Unverschämte S-Bahn-Kontrolle?
Vorhin auf dem Heimweg von der Arbeit wurde ich in der S-Bahn kontrolliert. Mein Ticket habe ich digital auf dem Handy. Das war allerdings zu dem Zeitpunkt ausgeschaltet.

Vorhin auf dem Heimweg von der Arbeit wurde ich in der S-Bahn kontrolliert. Mein Ticket habe ich digital auf dem Handy. Das war allerdings zu dem Zeitpunkt ausgeschaltet.
Kein Problem, dachte ich - ich schalte das Handy schnell an und bitte den Kontrolleur um einen Moment Geduld.
Allerdings kam dann schon die nächste Haltestelle und der Kontrolleur zwang mich mit ihm und seinen Kollegen den Zug zu verlassen, dabei waren gerade mal 20-30 Sekunden vergangen.
Als ich dann mein Handy entsperrt und das Ticket am Bahnsteig direkt danach vorgezeigt hatte, war ich ehrlich gesagt schon ziemlich verärgert meinen Zug verpasst zu haben.
Schließlich hatte man mir aufgrund der Nähe der Haltestellen nur einen kurzen Moment zeitgegeben. Die anderen Fahrgäste, die hinter mir im Zug saßen wurden auch gar nicht kontrolliert, die Kontrolle war ja an mir "hängen geblieben".
Ich konnte nichtmal richtig nachfragen, da forderten die beiden Kontrolleure auch meinen Ausweis. Man müsse ja jetzt meine Personalien aufnehmen, ich mein Ticket "nachzeigen" und die 7EUR Bearbeitungsgebühr zahlen.
Denn in den Fahrgastrichtlinien der Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe stünde, dass man bei Fahrt mit Handy-Ticket nur mit angeschaltetem Handy die Bahn betreten dürfe.
Das Zeigen des Ausweises habe ich konsequent verweigert und irgendwann ließen die Kontrolleure von mir ab und ich durfte mir noch einen moralisierenden Vortrag beim gemeinsamen Warten auf die nächste Bahn anhören.
Ist sowas normal? Ich kann mir kaum vorstellen, dass man die Bahn nur mit angeschaltetem Handy betreten darf, bzw. das Ticket in unter einer Minute vorzeigen muss....
Ja das ist leider normal bei denen. Die BVG hat da echt strenge Regeln, vor allem bei Handytickets. Ich hab mal gelesen dass du das Ticket "aktiv und bereit zur Kontrolle" haben musst, also schon offen aufm Display. Ist zwar ärgerlich aber die 7€ zahlst du meist trotzdem wenn du nicht sofort parat bist.
Fand die Aktion auch übertrieben von denen, vor allem weil die anderen Fahrgäste ignoriert wurden. Die sind manchmal echt pingelig, besonders abends auf den Linien Richtung Ringbahn. Nächstes Mal einfach vorher das Ticket aufmachen oder zur Sicherheit ausdrucken, bei 3,50€ pro Fahrt lohnt sich das Theater nicht.
Die Sache ist ein bisschen differenzierter. Die BVG-Regeln sagen tatsächlich, dass das Ticket "zur Kontrolle bereit" sein muss, aber die Praxis an den S-Bahnsteigen ist oft willkürlich. Ich wohne seit zehn Jahren in Berlin und wurde schon zigmal kontrolliert, die meisten Kontrolleure warten geduldig, wenn das Handy aus ist.
Die haben aber auch Druck von oben, vor allem auf Strecken wie der S41 oder S42, wo viele ohne Ticket fahren. Vielleicht hatten die Kollegen an dem Tag schon genug Ärger und haben dich als Exempel genommen.
Mein Tipp: Beim nächsten Mal einfach ruhig bleiben, den Ausweis zeigen und die 7 Euro zahlen. Wenn du diskutierst, verpasst du nur den nächsten Zug und die Laune ist im Keller. Auf dem Bahnsteig am Warschauer oder an der Sonnenallee sieht man fast jede Woche so eine Szene.
Ist ärgerlich, aber die Kontrolleure haben da tatsächlich recht. In den BVG-Beförderungsbedingungen steht, dass das Ticket "jederzeit kontrollfähig" sein muss, also das Display schon eingeschaltet und das Ticket sichtbar. 20-30 Sekunden sind denen zu lang, die haben da kaum Spielraum.
Die 7 Euro Bearbeitungsgebühr ist übrigens kein Fantasiebetrag, das steht so in den Tarifbestimmungen. Wenn du deine Personalien verweigerst, kann das sogar teurer werden oder ne Anzeige wegen Erschleichen von Leistungen geben. Nächstes Mal einfach den Ausweis zeigen, die 7 Euro zahlen und gut ist, sonst riskierst du echt ne Menge Ärger für nichts.

tbh the gartenstadt falkenberg tip is underrated, most tourists never make it out that far. i went last spring and the gardens were blooming like crazy, each house has a different color scheme and the whole place feels like a tiny fairy tale village. the s-bahn ride out there is pretty too, you go through all these foresty bits before reaching the station.
for a different evening spot try the schwarze riese bar in friedrichshain, it's a tiny place hidden behind a heavy black curtain with no sign outside. they do experimental cocktails and the lighting is super dim, feels like being in someone's weird living room. gets busy after 10pm though so go early if you want a seat.
also if you're near neukölln on a weekend check out the neuköllner oper, they do affordable opera and theater in german but the building itself is worth seeing, it's this old factory turned into a performance space. tickets are like 15 euros and it's never packed with tourists.
fwiw the viktoriapark tip is solid but the waterfall is seasonal, it's usually turned off in winter so don't plan around it. the view from the top is still worth it though, especially around golden hour when the light hits the monument.
if you're doing the boros bunker thing, book like a month ahead minimum, those tickets sell out fast. i'd also check out the KW Institute in mitte as a backup, they have rotating contemporary shows and usually no queue.
one thing missing from this guide is the flea market at mauerpark on sundays. yeah it's kinda touristy now but if u go early around 9am it's chill and you can find weird old berlin stuff. the karaoke in the amphitheater after noon is pure chaos, def a local experience.
honestly this is a solid list, i live in neukölln and you nailed the weserstraße vibe. one thing i'd add is that markthalle neun is great but thursdays get packed by 7pm, go earlier if u can. for a real hidden meal try the falafel at alibabas on sonnenallee, it's a tiny spot with no seating but some of the best in the city.
the klunkerkranich tip is good but be warned it's on top of a parking garage and the stairs can be a slog. if you want a quieter view with less climb hit the tempelhofer feld at sunset, it's an old airport turned park and you can just lie on the runway watching the sky. no beer up there but you can bring your own.
