Best place to rent Canon RF lenses?

I am coming to Berlin in Jan'25 and was looking for places to rent a few RF lenses that I could use for my 2 weeks in Berlin with my R8.

Thank you.

Calumet Photo at Checkpoint Charlie has a solid RF selection including the 24-105 f/4 L and the 70-200 f/2.8. They do weekly rentals and you can reserve online ahead of time, which I'd recommend since January is quiet but popular gear goes fast. Another option is Lensrental Berlin in Moabit, they're smaller but tend to have better weekend rates if you're only shooting a few days at a time. Bring your passport for the deposit either way.

if you're mostly shooting street & architecture, the 14-35 f/4 L is surprisingly fun for the price at Foto Koch, they had it last time i checked. their website shows availability in real time which is nice. just a heads up, a few places in berlin close for a week around new year's so double check they're open before u haul gear across the city

honestly if you're staying central, check out Fotokoch in Charlottenburg. they're not as flashy as Calumet but they've got RF glass including the 28-70 f/2 which is a beast for low light around the city. they're super chill about extending rentals if you give them a heads up a day before. also their deposit is just a card hold instead of cash, saves hassle with passport stuff

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
