Why are all prejudices about Prenzlauer Berg true?

I like my immediate neighborhood in Weißensee. The people are still a bit more mixed, when it comes to Income and it really feels „neighborhoodly" for the lack of a better word. Of course, a bit less international and more boring than the inner ring areas, but I enjoy it there. For most fun activities and work I'm in Prenzlauer Berg. I enjoy the Kiez a lot for it's beautiful architecture, cute Cafés and some really decent restaurants. On a nice day, it really feels like a short holiday walking through the area. However, I feel that every single preujudice about its inhabitants is true. Our office is located in the Remise of a residential house. For some reason the neighbours hate us and constantly accuse us of recycling wrongly. While that might have happened occasionally, the fieriness with which they prosecute us is insane. I can literally see, working at my desk, that one of the obviously well situated guys goes through the trash looking for evidence. „See, Susanne. They're still putting the Joghurt lids in the yellow bin". I understand, that no one wants trash situations like I used to have living in Neukölln, but this is just crazy? I don't think this is normal behavior outside of Thübingen and should be frowned upon.

Also on other occasions, I have a feeling that people from these Milieus use their environmental superiority (sic!) to justify their inner Fascist. Like when it comes to building a home for refugees, they argue that there are old trees standing on the construction ground. These are the same guys, who have these anti AFD-Posters in their window. I also believe that Bioläden exist partly, because poor people don't go there and the bourgeoisie can stay by themselves there. Having been at some communal gatherings of the Green Party and the bullshit they talk is unbelievable. Like they wanted to remove all trashcans from the local park, so people would stop overfilling them and rather take the trash home? Häh? Also, they always preach sustainability, but you can tell how empty the streets are before Christmas, that a lot of people there have a car. I could go on with anecdotal evidence, but I guess you'll get the jist. I would generally count myself towards this group of people, with regards to values and lifestyle. However, their double standards drive me a bit nuts. I wonder what the psychology behind this is. It reminds me of my catholic upbringing in the West where we were always saying Amen to forgiveness and being like tolerant, but you could really tell who was excluded of the community because of divorce or being a bit weird etc.

Sorry, this is just a rant on a double espresso, but sometimes this P-Berg Bubble really gets to me.

P.S. I don't care for correct grammar when venting.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
