Hi all,

Me and my pal have been scouring the internet looking for a place like the pc cafes they have in Asia where u can rent time either at a pc or a console to hang out, order food, and play games together. Is there anything like this in Berlin? So far our internet searches have turned up nothing so bit of a last resort!

Any recommendations welcome!

There's a place called Nexus in Friedrichshain that fits what you're looking for. They've got a bunch of PCs set up for gaming and you can order food and drinks right to your station, the menu is pretty solid for a gaming spot. It's on Warschauer Strasse near the S-Bahn, usually around 5 euro per hour for the computers.

yeah there's a few spots like that around town. try meltdown bar in neukölln, it's more of a gaming bar but they have pcs and consoles with food and drinks. also check out cyberlab at alexanderplatz, it's a bit more basic but does the job for pc rentals

god damn not this again, you could've just searched "gamecenter berlin" instead of clogging up a q&a site. there's level80 in mitte on torstraße, it's a lan cafe with decent rigs and they have drinks and snacks, not a full restaurant but

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
