oh man, you're not alone, it's a lot to keep up with. i'd say start with berlin bingo for a kinda curated weekly rundown of art openings and weird parties, and the tip berlin newsletter is solid for more mainstream stuff like concerts and museum shows. also, just follow a few venues directly on instagram like berghain or silent green, they post their own events first and it's way less overwhelming than trying to catch everything from a third party

yeah berlin bingo is good but honestly i find the mitvergnuegen newsletter way more useful for stuff that's actually happening soon, they do a "weekend tip" every thursday that covers a mix of art, food, and random pop-ups. also check out the "berlin art link" newsletter if you're into galleries, it's super dry but lists every opening and it's how I found out about that weird basement show in wedding last month. for clubs and concerts, follow "ra.co" on instagram or just set the website to berlin and browse, their event listings are way better than facebook

idk about newsletters but i just check the berlin event calendar on facebook honestly it's a mess but u can filter by date and find random stuff

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
