Does anyone know what program Heimstaden uses to track the amount of rent due?

I think their program might have a leap year bug https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_year_problem I think their program might have a leap year bug https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_year_problem

It's definitely SAP, but the leap year issue you're seeing might actually be in their custom frontend layer, not SAP itself. I've noticed their "Mietkonto" section on the portal has been glitchy since the start of the year, especially for people who moved in mid-month. If you send them a written correction request per paragraph 556c BGB, they have to respond within 12 months or the amount is void, so it's worth documenting.

fwiw i had the same issue with them back in feb 2020, also a leap year. their system double-charged my warm rent for a day and it took three emails to get it reversed. the support email at [email protected] is better than the phone line, they actually read the details if you attach a screenshot. just be patient, they're slow but they do fix it eventually.

pretty sure they use SAP, a lot of the bigger housing companies in Berlin do. but honestly their customer portal is a mess, i had a similar issue with them last year where my Nebenkosten didn't match up. if u call their support line (the one on their website, not the generic one) they can usually fix it in a day or two

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
