Lost Hedgehog in Fshain?

Are there wild hedgehogs in this city or is this a lost pet? (I couldn't get a hold of him, he was fast and spiked)

if u want to actually see one again try the wasteland strip along the ostbahn between ostkreuz & warschauer, i've flushed 3 out of there this spring alone around 1am. they love the bramble piles. also dont panic if u find a tiny one in like june, the mothers leave the kids solo while they forage & people scoop them up thinking theyre abandoned which does more harm than good

Yeah, hedgehogs are actually native to Berlin. They're not super common in the inner city but Fshain and especially the area around Mainzer Str has enough gardens and green space for them. I see them sometimes at night near the Volkspark Friedrichshain entrance on the other side of the ring. If it was moving fast and looked healthy it's probably just a wild one out hunting slugs and insects. No need to worry unless it's out in the middle of the day acting lethargic.

hedgehogs in berlin are protected under Bundesnaturschutzgesetz so technically ur not supposed to relocate or mess with them even if u think theyre lost. theyre solitary animals & the one u saw was almost certainly wild, not someones pet, people dont really keep them as pets here. if u spot one in daylight that looks sluggish or wobbly thats when u call the Wildtierrettung, otherwise just let it do its thing

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
