McFit on Potsdamer Straße has a solid reputation for being loud, and the crowd there tends to skew younger and heavier, so you'll hear plenty of metal and hardcore during peak hours. It's not a themed gym, but the sound system is cranked and nobody's going to judge you for headbanging between sets. If you want something more deliberate, check out the "Heavy Metal Workout" meetup that floats around Kreuzberg, it's a small group that meets at various outdoor calisthenics spots, usually near Tempelhofer Feld in summer. They crank stuff like Meshuggah and Gojira, and it's free, just bring your own resistance bands. For a proper gym vibe, I'd skip the big chains and hit up Eisenwerk in Moabit, it's a gritty powerlifting spot where the owner plays death metal all day, but it's tiny and you'll need to message them on Instagram for a trial day.

tbh the real move is hitting up a climbing gym but not boulderklub, try boulderklub's other spot in neukölln instead, they rotate playlists and thursdays are all metal, plus the crowd is more chill. if u want actual iron, there's a small basement gym off kleiststraße called kraftraum, it's not on google maps properly, you'll find it through their insta, the owner is a crusty old punk and it's basically a dungeon with dumbbells, he plays everything from carcass to amebix. also check out the outdoor fitness rings at gleisdreieck park, ppl meet there sunday mornings with bluetooth speakers, it's more of a community thing than a class, but u'll hear some slayer if u show up early enough

the real underground move is the boxing gym at the sports hall in schöneberg, near the u-bahn at kleistpark. it's not a commercial spot, more like a club run by a bunch of old hardcore punks, they have open training tuesdays and thursdays and the speaker setup is basically a wall of distortion. also, if u don't mind a bit of a trek, there's a calisthenics crew that meets at the mauerpark skate area on wednesdays, they blast black metal from a battery powered amp, no joke, saw them playing mayhem covers while ppl do muscle ups. for a proper gym tho, try the uni sport center at tu berlin, they got a small weight room and the students who run it curate the playlist, it's mostly 90s death metal and crust, plus it's dirt cheap if u can get a guest pass

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
