Best place to develop film in berlin (neukolln area) ?

I felt a bit robbed as back home it costs no more than €10, so I wanted to ask if these are the average prices or there's something cheaper ☺️

another spot worth checking is foto kopie express on weichselstr, they do c41 develop and print for around 8-10 euro but you gotta ask for digital scans separate which might add a few euro. the guy running it is pretty old school and the place looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80s but the work is solid and he won't upsell you on anything.

if you're shooting black and white the prices are a different story, some labs charge more for bw because it's hand processed. maybe stick to color film for now while you're figuring out the cheaper spots in the area.

€20 is pretty standard for a full C41 process with digital scans in Neukolln, especially at the small labs. You can save a bit by going to Rossmann or DM. They charge around 4-5 euros for developing and you get a CD with scans, though the quality is noticeably worse than a dedicated lab.

If you want better than drugstore but still cheaper, try Foto Meyer on Hasenheide. They do develop + basic scan for about 12-13 euros last I checked. The turnaround is usually 2-3 days, not the same day as some of the smaller places.

try safelight berlin near weserstr, they do decent scans for like 10-12 euro and the quality is solid for a hobbyist

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
