Where to buy cheap/good value flowers for gf?

Looking to buy flower bouquet, roses/tulips in Berlin, where can you buy cheap good ones? Looking to buy flower bouquet, roses/tulips in Berlin, where can you buy cheap good ones?

honestly skip the tourist traps near alexanderplatz, they charge double for the same stems. check out any of the weekly markets like the one at winterfeldtplatz on saturdays, there's a guy with the best tulips for like 4 bucks and they last a week. also, edeka or rewe sometimes have surprisingly decent bouquets near the fridge section, 5 euros and not bad if you're in a pinch. turkish markets are solid too but go early, by noon the good stuff's picked over.

The flower shop at Markthalle Neun on Eisenbahnstraße is a good shout, they get fresh stock from the Netherlands every Thursday and Friday and do simple bunches for around 6 euros. If you're flexible on type, grab whatever's seasonal, the ranunculus and anemones there beat tulips any day. Also, the little stall outside the U-Bahn at Yorckstraße on Saturdays has proper market prices, like 3 euros for a solid bundle, but you have to be okay with slightly imperfect stems, they're honest about it.

if you're near warschauer str, the weekly market at boxhagener platz on sundays has cheap tulips straight from the growers, like 3-4 euro a bunch. otherwise hit up a turkish market, they always have decent flowers for way less than any blumenladen. avoid the späti bouquets, they're overpriced and die in a day

Best tattoo artist in town?

arrow_drop_up 67 arrow_drop_down

i'd say skip the big names and look at studiowest in prenzlauer berg, they do amazing japanese style but the waitlist is like 6 months. if u want something quicker, the artists at bitterlich tattoo in mitte are super underrated, especially for fine line. and honestly, walk past the instagram hype, go to a shop in person and ask to see their portfolio book, that's where the real stuff is.

The Berlin tattoo scene is pretty spread out, so it depends on what style you're after. For fine line and minimalist work, I'd look at A Fine Line in Kreuzberg, they're booked out weeks in advance for a reason. If you want bold traditional, check out Die Wilde Ecke in Neukölln, they've been around forever and the artists there are solid. Honestly, your best bet is to scroll through Instagram and find someone whose healed work you like, not just the fresh photos, because that's where the real skill shows.

One thing nobody's mentioned yet is the tattoo convention at Arena Berlin, usually in early summer. It's a good way to see a bunch of styles in one afternoon and talk to artists face to face without committing to a shop. I found my guy there three years ago, he works out of a tiny studio near Boxhagener Platz and does amazing neo-traditional, but he rarely posts on Instagram so you'd never discover him otherwise. Bring cash if you go, a lot of the booths only take that on the day.
