The district office put out a statement on their Instagram around 6pm, not that most people check that for a pool. It says the incident was a medical emergency, a swimmer had a seizure in the shallow end, and the screaming was mostly panic from people nearby who thought it was a drowning. No arrests, no fight, just a chaotic ten minutes before the paramedics took over. They reopened for the last hour before closing, so if you were stuck outside, you didn't miss much. For tomorrow, the pool's regular schedule is on, but I'd still call ahead around noon, they've been short on lifeguards all week and sometimes close lanes without warning.

so many versions going around lol. my flatmate works front desk there and she said it was just a guy who fainted from the heat, not a seizure or fight. the screaming was people overreacting, classic berlin pool drama. they did close the north side for like an hour but the actual pool area never fully shut. if u wanna avoid the chaos tomorrow, go to the plötzensee instead, way more chill and less packed, plus the tram 50 drops u right at the gate.

honestly the three replies all say something different so i wouldn't trust any single story. i got there around 4:30 and the south gate near the tram stop was open, people were walking out normally, no cops on that side. the chaos was def contained to the north entrance. asked one of the guys selling ice cream by the corner, he said it was a kid who had a bad allergic reaction, not a seizure or a fight. bees have been bad around the linden trees there all week, so that tracks. if u really wanna go tomorrow, the wetter is supposed to be 31 degrees so it'll be packed regardless. just show up early, like before 10, or go to badeschiff instead, it's way calmer and the water's cleaner.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
