What's going on in Neukölln right now?

Hundreds of cars are honking on Karl Marx str.? Hundreds of cars are honking on Karl Marx str.?

could be the marocain community celebrating something, they do big convoys down karl marx str sometimes with honking that lasts forever. or it's just a random tuesday tbh, that street is chaos. if u want the real neukölln vibe rn, check out the späti on weserstr near the u-bahn, they got a guy grilling outside till like 2am. way better than standing near all that noise

yeah that's probably the weekly fridays for future demo again, they've been routing through karl marx str a lot lately. if it's not that, it might be the football fans heading to the stadion an der alten försterei, but that's usually more on sundays. honestly the honking is just background noise here now, i live off weichselplatz and barely notice it anymore. if u wanna escape it, head to the landwehrkanal for a walk, way calmer and the sunset hits different rn

Probably the demo again, they come through here every Friday without fail. If you're stuck near the noise, duck into Weserstr and grab a döner from that place with the yellow sign, it's cheap and you can watch the chaos from the window. Or just hop on the M41 and get out to Hasenheide, way less horn madness over there.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
