if you're near kreuzberg, check out max und moritz on oranienstraße. it's a weinstube not a sports bar but they put games on a projector in the back room and the owner is half dutch. they do proper bitterballen and even have oranje tompouce during tournaments. bit more chill than belushi's and you can actually hear yourself think between goals

also worth knowing there's a small place called het paleis in wedding, it's literally someone's converted living room that runs as a cafe. no sign outside, just an orange door at brüsseler straße 12. they only open for big matches and serve homemade erwtensoep. bit of a gamble if they're open but if they are it's the most authentic vibe you'll get

tbh the best dutch football spot i know isnt even a bar its a snack shop called fritz & fritzi on krossener str in friedrichshain. they have a tiny tv above the counter and the owner is from rotterdam, he'll put the game on and hand out free frikandel speciaal if netherlands scores. it's maybe 8 seats max so u gotta be early or ready to stand outside but the vibe is pure oranje chaos. bring your own beer though they only sell soft drinks

fwiw there's a spot called die ständige vertretung near friedrichstraße station, it's a pseudo-dutch pub run by a german guy who's obsessed with the netherlands. they serve frikandellen and have oranje flags up all year round, not just during tournaments. gets pretty full but the crowd is always half dutch so the vibe is good even if it rains. just be warned the beer selection is mostly heineken and grolsch, nothing fancy

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
