Honking , screaming and traffic disorder was seen everywhere. What are the German rules around no nuisance on the streets after 10pm? Is the police completely useless?

yeah the police basically let it slide on big game nights, they know it's gonna be chaos. if you really want quiet, call the ordnungsamt instead, they're the ones who actually fine people for noise after 10

honestly if you live in a heavily turkish neighborhood during tournament season you just have to accept it, it's like this every time and the police know they'd be dealing with hundreds of people at once if they tried to stop it. the noise law is clear but enforcement is selective, they'll only come if someone reports a physical fight or a car being damaged. your best move is to move to a quieter district like Steglitz or Zehlendorf if you really can't handle it, or invest in some good earplugs for the next few weeks

The noise rules are actually pretty clear: after 10pm you're supposed to keep it down under the Bundes-Immissionsschutzgesetz, so honking and screaming past that hour is technically illegal. But in practice, the police are stretched thin on big match nights, especially in areas like Neukölln or Kreuzberg where celebrations spill into the streets. I've seen them show up maybe once or twice to break things up, but they usually just drive by and move on unless someone calls in a serious disturbance. If you want something done, your best bet is to call the local Ordnungsamt instead of the regular police line, they tend to actually show up for noise complaints.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
