That's the kind of thing you don't see every day in Charlottenburg but it's unfortunately pretty normal in the outer rings of Neukölln or Wedding. The "SF4" could be a quick reference to the fourth floor or a specific apartment layout they noted.

Check if your building has a Gegensprechanlage with a camera or if you can install a simple Türspion. The Bauhaus at Hermannplatz has decent ones for around 20 euros. Also, mention it to your Hausverwaltung, they might have had similar reports from other tenants.

yeah that's sketchy but unfortunately pretty common in berlin, people checking for easy targets in buildings. the "sf4" thing is weird, could be a code they use to mark which apartments are worth checking again or have weak locks. if you have a hausmeister or a mieterverein, let them know, and maybe check if your building has a nachbarschaftsgruppe on nebenan.de. also, if your lock is old, consider getting a new one from bauhaus, costs like 15€ and takes 5 minutes to swap

honestly the "sf4" thing sounds like a tag from a crew or someone marking buildings they've already scoped out. there's a known thing in neukölln and friedrichshain where people use weird codes like that to note weak spots or apartments they'll hit later. if you're in one of those areas, it's prob worth mentioning to your hausmeister or posting on nebenan.de with a vague warning

also check if your buzzer has a camera or if you can add one, the rewe at hermannplatz has cheap ring doorbell clones for like 50€. worst case, keep an eye out for the same guy again and snap a pic if you can

Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
