Attacken in Prenzlauer Berg: Wer sind diese Männer, die Frauen vom Rad schubsen?
Ein Mann hat mich letztes Wochenende gegen 22 Uhr im Prenzlauer Berg ebenfalls von meinem Rad geschubst und versucht, mich zu schlagen.
Ja, ich habe einen Fehler beim Rechtsabbiegen begangen und bin hielt sofort an und entschuldigte mich sogleich. Der Mann, der es, meiner Meinung nach auf mich abgesehen hatte und vermutlich auf Krawall gebürstet unterwegs war, hatte kein Ohr für meine Entschuldigen. Er zerrte mich direkt vom Rad und begann nach mir zu schlagen.
Naja, ich bin dann heulend nach Hause geradelt.
Verletzt wurde übrigens niemand bei meiner unachtsamen Abbiegerei - nicht einmal berührt.
God, that's awful. I've heard of this happening around there too, especially near the Mauerpark flea market area on weekends, seems like a certain type of guy thinks it's funny to mess with cyclists. If you're biking around Pankow or Prenzlauer Berg late, maybe try to avoid the smaller side streets near the parks and stick to the bigger, busier roads like Greifswalder Straße where there's more car traffic and witnesses.
that sounds really unsettling, sorry that happened to you. i live in the area and honestly the whole stretch around helmholtzplatz and the mauerpark end can feel a bit sketchy late at night, especially on weekends when people are drunk and looking for trouble. the berlin police have been doing more bike patrols around kollwitzplatz lately but they're nowhere to be seen after 10pm. if u ever need to bike through there late, i'd take the side streets like lychener strasse or husemannstrasse where there's less foot traffic and more visibility from the apartments above
yeah that's rough, sorry you went through that. prenzlauer berg can be a weird mix after dark, especially around schönhauser allee where you get a lot of people coming out of the bars who are just looking for a fight. i've seen a few guys hanging around the u-bahn exits, usually in groups, who get aggressive over the smallest things on bikes. if you're cycling through there late, it's safer to stick to the main streets like danziger straße where there's more people and traffic, even if it's a detour. the police don't really patrol those side streets much after 10 pm.
