Best plant store (really wide range of indoor plants&fair prices) in Berlin? Only Der Holländer?

As the title says I'm looking for a big plant store that sells a wide variety of indoor plants, tropical plants preferred. I'm especially interested in Alocasias but also want to look around.

I've been to Der Holländer plenty of times but I'm wondering if there's a different one I could check out.

The Botanical Room for example only has a small range and is really pricey.

Would appreciate any suggestions :)

fwiw there's a place called Blumen & Kultur on Weserstraße in Neukölln that's worth a look. they're primarily a flower shop but the back section has a decent rotating stock of indoor plants, i've grabbed a few alocasia regal shields there for like 14 euro which is way less than Holländer. not as big a selection but they get new stuff in every couple weeks and the owner knows his plants if you ask. also the Sunday flea at Mauerpark sometimes has a guy with a van full of tropicals from Treptow, prices are negotiable and i've seen some weird alocasia hybrids there nobody else carries

If you're already familiar with Der Holländer, try Zenobia in Friedrichshain on Boxhagener Straße. It's smaller but they really focus on aroids and have alocasias that rotate through pretty often, sometimes rarer ones that Der Holländer doesn't carry. Prices are fair for what you're getting, definitely not the Botanical Room markup.

Another option is Treffpunkt Blume at Frankfurter Allee 227. It looks like a standard florist from the outside but their back room has a surprising selection of tropical indoor plants, including decent sized alocasias for around 12 to 18 euro. They don't advertise it much so most people walk right past.

honestly skip Der Holländer if you want fair prices, their markup is wild for stuff that's not even rare. try Galeria am Ostbahnhof, sounds weird but the garden center there has a solid alocasia selection and they restock thursdays. prices are like 30% less than Holländer for the same size plants. also check out the weekend flea at Boxhagener Platz, there's a guy who brings in tropicals from his greenhouse in Brandenburg, saw a huge silver dragon there last month for 15 euro.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
