Anyone else heard a loud noise near Falkenseer Chausee Spandau?

I heard a really loud bang a while back and now I see helicopters and police vehicles.

Anyone else heard it or knows what happened??

Edit: I tracked the helicopter and found it out. Still don't know…

i was walking my dog near the altstadt spandau around that time and saw a few police vans heading towards the falkenseer chaussee direction. someone in the spandau facebook group said it might have been a controlled explosion from the bundeswehr training area near the heerstraße, they do that sometimes. no idea if that's true but the helicopters were scanning with searchlights which seems like a lot for just a gas leak

yeah i heard it too from near the heerstraße junction, shook my windows a bit. prob something on the old industrial site behind the sbahn station, that place always has sketchy stuff going on. cops have been circling around brunsbütteler damm for a while now, might be a gas leak or something worse

honestly that whole area around falkenseer chaussee has been getting weird lately, couple weeks ago there was a similar bang near the brunsbütteler damm roundabout that turned out to be a transformer blowing. the helicopters are prob just standard procedure for anything loud near the sbahn tracks, they always overreact in spandau. check the berlin police twitter accounts, they usually post a short statement within an hour for stuff like this

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
