I am pretty interested in mainly in vintage and gothic style clothing, art, photography... Any reccomendation?

honestly skip the big sunday ones if you hate elbowing through people. try the RAW flea market on revaler str in friedrichshain on sundays, it's under the train tracks and has a grungier feel with more goth and punk stalls than mauerpark

for photography there's a guy who sets up near the back with old leicas and weird darkroom prints, prices are decent if you haggle. also check out the one at tempelhofer feld on saturdays, it's smaller but has way more art books and vintage cameras per square meter than the tourist traps

the gothic stuff is hit or miss but RAW tends to attract the alternative crowd selling their wardrobe. just go before noon or the vinyl dudes take over everything

if you're into vintage and gothic stuff, hit the flea market at mauerpark on sunday, it's the biggest and has a solid mix of clothes and random art but gets packed. for something more niche, the flohmarkt at arkonaplatz on sunday morning is smaller and has better quality vintage, more curated feels. there's also a regular one at strasse des 17. juni on saturdays, less gothy but good for photography prints and old cameras if you dig through the tables. mauerpark is your best bet for the scene, just go early before the crowds get wild

Yeah Mauerpark on Sunday is the big one everyone knows about. If you want more gothic and alternative stuff check out the flea market at Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain on Sunday too, it tends to have a darker vibe and more weird art prints than the touristy ones.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
