Best live music bars to visit?

yeah you'll find stuff most nights for sure. if you're into a more intimate vibe, try A-Trane in Charlottenburg, it's a jazz club that's been around forever, they have acts every night and the cover's reasonable. also for something a bit different, check out the S036 in Kreuzberg, they do live stuff from local bands and it's pretty cheap, more of a dive bar feel. weeknights are totally fine, just check ahead on their websites

honestly, you're fine on weeknights too. Berlin's not like a small town where everything shuts down monday through wednesday. places like B-Flat in Mitte have jazz pretty much every night, starts around 8 or 9, and it's super chill for a solo visitor.

if you want something a bit more raw, try Madame Claude in Kreuzberg. it's this weird underground place with the furniture on the ceiling and they do live stuff most nights, mostly indie or singer-songwriter vibes. not really blues or jazz but it's a proper Berlin experience.

for blues specifically, check out the Quasimodo near the Zoo. they've been around forever, cover charge is usually around 10-15 euros, and they have acts tuesday through saturday. just check their instagram before you go cause sometimes it's private events.

weekends are better for variety but you definitely don't need to plan your whole trip around friday and saturday.

quasimodo and a-trane are solid picks but if you want something a bit more divey and cheap, try the Bird in Prenzlauer Berg. they do live jazz and blues on random weeknights, no cover, just buy a beer and you're good. also Yorckschloss in Kreuzberg has a rotating mix of live stuff, mostly rock and blues, and it's open late. weeknights are fine just double check their facebook page the day of cause sometimes it's a random dj instead

Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
