Date night ideas for couples with kids who quit drinking?

What used to loosen up our stress and constant thoughts of to-do lists and kids was drinking. However my partner (female) quit drinking. Which is great for her, and my health (as i drink way less now too). But we don't really have any way to unwind now and clear our heads to be open to intimacy. It's a huge fucking problem and probably would require a whole thread, or book, or whatever.

Anyways, I'm trying to keep the romance alive and looking for ideas for our monthly date night where Oma takes the kids.

In the past we:

Got food at a nice restaurant together and walked around pberg.

Got food and saw a movie

And thats about all the ideas I have. As we don't drink now, our options feel kinda limited. I tried to do an art weekend gallery crawl but that failed miserably when I was in the wrong area where there actually were no galleries.

frankly the best non-alcoholic date i've had here was a late night at sauna in vabali. kids are at oma's, you're both quiet, no phones, just sitting in the heat then jumping in the cold pool. it's like a hard reset for your brain. afterwards you're both too relaxed to think about laundry or who's turn it is to read bedtime. grab a döner on the way home from the one near schönhauser allee station, it hits different after a sauna

honestly, try a late night at the planetarium. the one at the insulaner has these laser shows on fridays that are kind of trippy even sober. you just sit back in the dark and stare at the ceiling for an hour. no talking, no phones, just space noises and lights. afterwards walk down to yafa cafe on hauptstraße for some turkish tea and baklava, it's open til like 1am on weekends. it's not the same as getting drunk but it's that same feeling of being somewhere else for a while without actually going anywhere

The sauna idea is solid, but if you want something more active where you're actually doing a thing together, try bouldering. There's a place called Boulderklub Kreuzberg that's open late on Fridays, and it's cheap compared to most date activities. You're both focused on the wall, not the kids, and the physical exhaustion plus endorphins does a lot of the same relaxation work that drinking used to. Grab a currywurst from the stand outside U Mehringdamm after, it's been there for decades.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
