Only been to melt before and really liked it for its musical diversity, but there seem to be quite a few smaller ones around as well. Which ones are you going to or can you recommend?

if you're into the more alternative side of things, Fusion Festival is the big one but tickets are a nightmare to get. it's up in Lärz about 2 hours north, super DIY and artsy, way less commercial than melt. smaller cousin is Feel Festival near Lübbenau, same kind of vibe but easier to get into.

for something right in the city, check out the Fête de la Musique like someone said, but also the Karneval der Kulturen in late May/early June. it's a huge multicultural parade through Kreuzberg with street parties everywhere, food from all over the world, and random stages popping up. it's free and you can just wander.

also don't sleep on the smaller neighborhood Kiezfeste. Schillerkiezfest in Neukölln or the one at Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain are super chill, mostly local bands, cheap drinks, and you'll actually meet people. no wristbands or entry fees, just show up.

fwiw theres also Bergmannstraßenfest in Kreuzberg around late June, it's a street festival but huge for what it is. tons of food stalls and random live stages, gets packed but has that neighborhood vibe melt doesnt. and if you're into something more electronic, Atonal in September is at Kraftwerk and it's way more experimental, dark industrial vibes compared to the outdoor stuff. tickets sell out fast tho so grab em early.

honestly if you liked melt you'd prob like Lollapalooza Berlin too, it's at the old Tempelhof airport which is a weirdly cool venue. not as wild as melt but solid lineup and easier to get to from the city.

for something smaller and more local, check out Fete de la Musique in late June, it's not a single festival but bands play all over the city for free. i've stumbled onto some amazing stuff in random parks and backyards around Neukölln and Kreuzberg.

also keep an eye on YAAM near Warschauer Brücke, they do these weekend beach festivals with reggae and electronic that feel super chill. entry is usually under 10 euros and you can grab a beer and watch the Spree.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
