Car sharing without EU licence?

Are there any car sharing services that still accept UK driving licences? Miles used to do it but now it's EU only. Are there any car sharing services that still accept UK driving licences? Miles used to do it but now it's EU only.

You might have more luck with the classic station-based car sharing like Cambio or Stattauto. They tend to be less picky about licence formats since you book through a website and pick up at a fixed spot rather than through an app. I'd give the Cambio office near Hermannplatz a ring, they speak English and can tell you straight up if your licence works. The downside is you have to return the car to the same station, but the rates are usually cheaper than the free-floating ones anyway.

If you are a member of ADAC, their car sharing service through the ADAC Berlin app has been known to accept UK licences since they verify documents manually. You would need to visit their office on Bundesallee to show the original licence in person. The free-floating options like Miles and Share Now have gotten stricter, but the station based model with fixed return spots is usually more flexible with the paperwork.

honestly, your best bet is probably to sign up for a ride share platform like BlaBlaCar as a driver, they're way more chill about non-EU licences than the car2go types. I've seen people use UK licences with WeShare (or whatever it's called now) but you might have to go into their office in person to get it sorted, their app is a pain with foreign docs. also some of the smaller local stations like Teilauto in Prenzlauer Berg might work, just call them first instead of guessing

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
