So, me and my wife need to look for a new place and she suggested placing an ad in a newspaper.

Mainly there seems to be the Tagesspiegel and Berliner Morgenpost. If you had to pick one, cost wise which would you pick? Are there designated target groups?

Thanks a lot

The other replies are right that online is the main game, but if you're set on print, pick Tagesspiegel. It's more widely read in the western districts like Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf where older landlords with unlisted flats tend to live. A small ad on a Saturday will run you about 60 to 80 euros depending on size, so it's not cheap, but it's a better bet than the Morgenpost which has a more tabloid-style readership. Just keep your expectations low, a single response would be a win.

look, your wife's idea isn't totally insane but you gotta be strategic about it. tagesspiegel is the better pick here but only because the weekend edition gets passed around at späti breakfast tables in prenzlauer berg and friedrichshain where young families are moving out of their elternfinanzierte altbauwohnungen. cost wise you're looking at maybe 50-70 euro for a small inserat on a saturday, which is cheaper than a month of immoscout premium honestly. just keep it short, mention the bezirk you want, and put "direkt vom eigentümer" in bold so you don't get five calls from maklers trying to sell you a wohnung in marzahn

yeah don't waste your money on either paper tbh. if you really want to go old school, tagesspiegel is slightly better because it reaches more of the older homeowners who might have a flat in their building they never listed online. but realistically you're competing against everyone else scrolling immoscout24 at 8am, so put that ad money toward a premium immoscout account instead
