Muay Thai personal training?

I've found some gyms that offer it, but the prices go to as much as 150€/h, which is unfortunately way out of budget for me, as I'd like to do it at least once a week. I imagine there are more affordable options out there, so I appreciate any leads, either with their own studio, or at regular gyms (I've got Urban Sports L). I live in Reinickendorf, but willing to commute for classes :)

if you're in reinickendorf, try thai boxen berlin in the center, near alexanderplatz. they have a smaller, more old-school vibe and the personal training is around 60-70€ per hour if you buy a package of 5 sessions. the owner trains fighters but also works with hobbyists, and they don't push the urban sports stuff which is honestly nice. the commute from reinickendorf is about 20 min on the u8

Check out Fight Club Berlin in Wedding, it's not far from Reinickendorf. They do Muay Thai and their personal training rates are around 80-90 per hour last I checked, much more reasonable than the 150 you were quoted. You can also use your Urban Sports Club L pass for their regular group classes to supplement the one-on-one sessions. The trainers there have competitive fight backgrounds and they're used to working with people at different levels.

You might want to look into BJJ and Muay Thai Berlin in Mitte, right by Rosenthaler Platz. Their one-on-one rates sit around 70€ per hour if you buy a block of sessions, and the trainers have solid fight team backgrounds without the fancy gym markup. The U8 from Reinickendorf drops you off at Weinmeisterstr, so it's about 25 minutes door to door. I'd avoid the big commercial chains near Gesundbrunnen for personal training, they tend to charge the 150€ you saw because they're branding it as premium fitness coaching rather than actual fight training.

Best tattoo artist in town?

arrow_drop_up 67 arrow_drop_down

i'd say skip the big names and look at studiowest in prenzlauer berg, they do amazing japanese style but the waitlist is like 6 months. if u want something quicker, the artists at bitterlich tattoo in mitte are super underrated, especially for fine line. and honestly, walk past the instagram hype, go to a shop in person and ask to see their portfolio book, that's where the real stuff is.

The Berlin tattoo scene is pretty spread out, so it depends on what style you're after. For fine line and minimalist work, I'd look at A Fine Line in Kreuzberg, they're booked out weeks in advance for a reason. If you want bold traditional, check out Die Wilde Ecke in Neukölln, they've been around forever and the artists there are solid. Honestly, your best bet is to scroll through Instagram and find someone whose healed work you like, not just the fresh photos, because that's where the real skill shows.

One thing nobody's mentioned yet is the tattoo convention at Arena Berlin, usually in early summer. It's a good way to see a bunch of styles in one afternoon and talk to artists face to face without committing to a shop. I found my guy there three years ago, he works out of a tiny studio near Boxhagener Platz and does amazing neo-traditional, but he rarely posts on Instagram so you'd never discover him otherwise. Bring cash if you go, a lot of the booths only take that on the day.
