How long does it take to exit Berlin Airport?

How long does it take to go from plane to exiting the airport on a good day and on a bad day? Travelling with hand luggage only. How long does it take to go from plane to exiting the airport on a good day and on a bad day? Travelling with hand luggage only.

The real variable is where you're sitting on the plane. If you're in the back of an A321 at BER's Terminal 1, you've got a solid 10 minute walk from the gate to the passport hall even before you queue. I've had days where the jet bridge is crowded and you're just standing there waiting to move. The e-gates at BER are pretty reliable for EU passports, but if you're non-EU or they're down, that queue snakes around and eats up time fast. For a worst case, add a security recheck if you came from a non-Schengen airport, that can tack on another 10 minutes.

something people skip is that BER's terminal 1 has two separate passport control areas now, and which one you get dumped into depends on your gate. the A gates drop you at the main hall which is usually fine, but B and C gates sometimes route you through a smaller hall near the baggage claim that gets clogged fast if two widebodies land at once. i'd add that the S-Bahn to alexanderplatz takes about 25 minutes and costs 3.60 euro, u6 is the same price but runs less often

honestly depends on whether you're unlucky with the baggage claim belt, even with hand luggage only sometimes they make you wait for a gate check. a good day at BER Terminal 1 you're on the train in 15 mins if you sprint past the duty free. a bad day with a non Schengen flight from somewhere like Istanbul or Dubai can be 40+ mins just waiting for passport control, and the e gates are no guarantee either. Terminal 2 is worse for layout, feels like you're walking forever to get to the S Bahn, add another 10 mins easy.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
