can i change from Deutschland-Ticket Job to Berlin AB for 29 Euro?

So i have a Deutschland-Ticket Job for 46,55 EUR. Can i change in july to the 29 Euro Ticket? I dont see the option on the page to change the Abo. So i have a Deutschland-Ticket Job for 46,55 EUR. Can i change in july to the 29 Euro Ticket? I dont see the option on the page to change the Abo.

The 29 euro ticket is a separate offer from the Deutschlandticket Job, so you can't just swap the subscription type online. You'd need to cancel the Job ticket first, and depending on your employer's contract, there might be a 12 month minimum term that hasn't expired yet. If you're clear to cancel, do it by the 10th of June for it to end in June, then you can sign up for the 29 euro ticket directly on the BVG or VBB website for July. The catch is that the 29 euro ticket is limited to Berlin AB only, so if you ever travel outside those zones, you'll need to buy extra tickets.

yeah the 29 euro ticket is a whole separate thing from the job ticket, not a downgrade option. you have to cancel the job abo first, but check if ur employer subsidizes it cause that usually means a 12 month commitment. if you're free to cancel, do it by june 10th at the latest and then sign up for the 29 euro ticket fresh on the vbb website for july.

one thing nobody mentioned yet is that the 29 euro ticket is strictly berlin AB only, so if you ever go to potsdam or brandenburg you're stuck buying extra tickets. the job ticket covers the whole deutschland network which is a big difference. also the 29 euro ticket is only available until the end of 2024 i think, so it's not a permanent thing like the deutschlandticket

honestly the 29 euro ticket is only for people who dont already have a discounted job ticket. the official rule says you cant switch mid-year if you're on the deutschland-ticket job abo.

your best bet is to cancel the job ticket with a notice period (usually by the 10th of the month) and then buy the 29 euro ticket fresh for july. but check your contract terms first, some job ticket deals lock you in for 12 months. the BVG or VBB customer center at Alexanderplatz can clarify faster than the website imo

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
