We made a reservation this past Monday. Unfortunately, not a whole lot of luck communicating with the folks organizing it since that time.

Need to know: 1) What time are we expected there? 2) Are we allotted a table, or should we bring our own?

Thanks in advance.

I've sold there a handful of times and the lack of communication is just how they operate. You'll want to be there by 7:30 if you want a decent spot near the main path rather than shoved off to the side by the old train tracks. They do have tables but they're the cheap plastic ones that sink into the gravel, so I'd recommend bringing your own and maybe a couple of bricks or something to level the legs. Bring small bills for the stand fee, it was 18 euros last time I was there in October.

honestly the communication thing is pretty standard for them, they're just not great at it. show up around 8 like the other person said, but bring your own table for sure, theirs are flimsy and wobble on the cobblestones. also bring cash for the stand fee, it's like 15-20 euros i think and they don't take card. if you're selling clothes or small stuff, get there early to snag a spot with some shade, the sun can be brutal by midday

The spot near the old train tracks the other person mentioned isn't bad actually, you get more foot traffic from people cutting through to the main hall. The table situation is what it is, but if you bring your own, a 6-foot folding table fits best in the standard pitch size. One thing nobody mentioned is that the train noise can be loud enough to interrupt conversations, so don't stress if you have to repeat yourself to customers. The cafe inside the RAW building has decent coffee and is a good escape if you need a quick break from the sun.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
