Train fine - paying?

Hi, I got fined on the train for not having my ticket - it fell out of my pocket when I was walking around waiting on the train to the airport (I am a tourist).

The train inspector was not giving me any leeway or opportunity to buy a new ticket after realizing mine was lost. I showed them all my day-passes I had bought for the 3 days I was in Berlin up until the one I could not find and apologized, but they were still pretty aggressive.

They let someone else on the train who was a local get off with a warning (their ticket had expired).

My question is this: what happens if the fine is not paid?

I understand it's my fault I lost my ticket, but I was more turned off by the inspector's attitude toward me compared to the other person.

I've tried finding the answer on other Reddit posts, but couldn't find a clear one.

Does anyone have any experience with this as a tourist from out of the country or EU?

Also from what I've read on other pages, with all this stuff about YOU MUST PAY!!! OMG YOUR MORALS HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITH YOURSELF??? YOU ARE A CRIMINAL!!! IT WILL GO TO COLLECTIONS AND YOU WILL BE SENTENCED BY A JUDGE TO GO TO JAIL!!!.... respectfully, bsffr. People are on here acting like they work for the train company and are getting a cut of the fine. By the way the inspector was acting, you'd think those 60 euro fines would be going toward a good cause, but by all the littered, dirty train stations and run down streets I came across, I'm guessing no one pays those ticket fines.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
