Cheers,

Unfortunately, I am unable to find any pandan leaves, but I love the flavour and I miss it a lot! I've been to the green Chinese brand stores 東方超市 and to the yellow Vietnamese ones 榮利市場 many times but never saw it there..

Therefore and for my tummy's sake please help me to find pandan leaves!

Sending you a millions of thanks in advance~~

You should try the little Turkish grocery stores in Neukolln, specifically on Karl-Marx-Strasse. I've found fresh pandan leaves at the one near U-Rathaus Neukolln, tucked in the back with the fresh herbs. They don't always have them, so it's worth asking the guy at the counter if you don't see them. The frozen ones from Go Asia are fine, but fresh really makes a difference for the aroma.

Have you tried the Asian markets around Kantstrasse? Specifically, Go Asia on Bismarckstrasse usually has frozen pandan leaves in their freezer section near the other herbs. Fresh ones are harder to come by, but the frozen ones work perfectly for cooking and baking.

honestly check Dong Xuan Center in Lichtenberg. it's a whole vietnamese wholesale market complex, way bigger than the little shops in charlottenburg. they have a few stalls that sell fresh herbs and produce, and ive def seen pandan leaves there in the past. go to the main hall area, the one with all the dried goods and spices. if they dont have fresh, they usually have frozen blocks of pandan paste or extract which is even easier to use for desserts. bring cash, some stalls dont take card

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
