She possess a Bsc in accounting and a UK qualification (CIMA). And good with analysis and power BI stuff. Yet we find it so difficult to find jobs in accounting without german language.

She is fed up of job search. Does anyone has similar experience in the same field. Is it worth even trying for english speaking jobs. She is learning German and currently at A1 level. Any ideas or suggestions are highly appreciated.

honestly at A1 she's gonna struggle with traditional controller roles at german firms, those usually want B2 minimum for internal reporting. but her power bi + cima combo is legit gold for fp&a at tech companies, especially ones that report to a uk or us parent. tell her to look up "financial analyst" not "management accountant" on linkedin berlin, filter by english, and target companies with a clear international hq like wework or contentful. also the berlin volkshochschule offers cheap intensive german courses that move faster than goethe if she wants to hit A2 quick, that alone opens more doors

honestly the startup route is her best bet but she needs to network not just apply online. berlin has a pretty active slack community called berlinstartupjobs or she could hit up coworking spaces like betahaus or factory berlin where finance people sometimes hang out. also worth checking if her cima gives her any exemptions for the german steuerberater exam, long term that unlocks way more doors. the a1 level is rough but if she grinds to b1 in 6 months it gets noticeably easier.

yeah it's a grind but not hopeless. a1 is rough for controller roles where you talk to budget holders daily, but power bi + cima is a strong combo for the right places. have her check out companies like getyourguide or babbel, they run english-first finance teams and hire for fp&a roles that don't need german day-to-day. also worth looking at the startup scene in mitte, especially around torstraße, a few smaller tech firms there will take english speakers if she can handle the finanzamt stuff with a steuerberater on retainer

What is the reason for the high number of helicopters flying over central neighborhoods recently?

I've noticed an unusually high number of helicopters flying over central areas today, with several passing in a short time period. Can anyone provide information about what might be happening? Could be related to the demonstration near Invalidenstraße earlier, they often deploy police helicopters for that. I've also heard there's a film shoot happening around Potsdamer Platz this week.
