Depends on what you're after. Cassiopeia on Revaler Strasse has a nice beer garden out back and a bit more space than the usual packed Kneipe, plus they often have live music later. For something darker and more intimate, try Ä on Boxhagener Strasse, it's small and cash only but the drinks are cheap and the jukebox is good.

tbh you should check out Primitivo on Weichselstraße, it's a tiny wine bar with a great vibe and they do natural wines by the glass for like 4-5 euro. not a pub exactly but it's got that relaxed friedrichshain feel and the owner is usually there chatting with people. if you're set on beer though, go to Bierbüro on Gabriel-Max-Straße, they've got a killer selection of bottles and cans from small german breweries plus a nice backyard when it's warm

honestly for a night out in friedrichshain i'd skip simon-dach entirely and head to the area around boxhagener platz instead. wohnzimmer on krossener strasse has that classic living room pub feel with mismatched furniture and a proper late license, cheap drinks too. if u want something with a bit more edge the yaam near the ostbahnhof is technically a beach bar but it's got that raw friedrichshain energy and the reggae is always on

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
