Hey everyone,

I'm currently on the hunt for fellow enthusiasts within the community who are keen on collaborating on hobby projects or even potentially joining forces to launch a startup. Specifically, I'm interested in diving into a software project and I'm in search of someone who shares an interest in my idea and possesses the necessary management/marketing/design skills to bring our project to life. I'm curious to know how others in the community have been finding collaborators lately. Are there any platforms or communities you recommend for connecting with like-minded individuals? Perhaps there's a specific platform where I can showcase my project or browse through others' projects to meet potential collaborators? Your insights and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

if you're technical and need design/marketing, the Berlin indie hackers / bootstrapper scene is underrated. there's a regular thing called "Indie Beers" that hops around Neukölln bars, mostly solo founders and small teams, way less pitchy than the startup events. also the "Gründen in Berlin" facebook group is surprisingly active for finding people, ppl post intros with what they can do and what they need. one thing tho, most good collabs i've seen came from someone just doing a small freelance or equity slice first, not from a formal cofounder search.

Meetup.com still works for this in Berlin, but the groups that actually produce collaborations are the smaller niche ones like Berlin Hack and Tell at c-base or the Rust and Elixir meetups around Prenzlauer Berg. Bigger events like Tech Open Air are mostly networking theater at this point. If your project is open source, the fastest route is putting it on GitHub with a clear README and a "help wanted" label, then posting in the relevant Discord servers, that's where the designers and PMs who actually follow through tend to hang out. One thing nobody mentions, look at werkschau exhibitions from places like HTW or UdK, the design students showing work there are often looking for real projects and they graduate with time on their hands.

check the schwarzes brett at ur local uni or the aushang boards at places like TU, ppl still pin physical notes there for projects. also the berlin game dev community (talk at a bar in friedrichshain monthly) has a ton of artists & designers who want side projects, way more than u'd expect

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
