Hello!

I'm going to Berlin in April - May and want to make sure I can continue to practice Yoga and stay active while I'm there.

Are there any Yoga studios with English instruction that you recommend? Also open to any other fitness studios types like Pilates, barre, literally anything in English. I'm super excited to check out the wellness scene there.

Thank you so much for your recs!

For yoga in English, I'd head to Yoga Lounge in Kreuzberg near Kottbusser Tor. Their morning Mysore-style Ashtanga sessions are self-paced and the teacher gives all instructions in English, plus it's a tiny studio so you get more hands-on adjustments. If you want something more intense, check out F45 in Friedrichshain, they run circuit-style classes entirely in English and you can buy a 10-class pass without committing to a membership. The wellness scene here is more about functional training and boutique studios than big chains, so look for places that advertise "international" on their websites.

if you're in mitte, try hommage on torstraße, they do english pilates and barre plus some dance fusion stuff. it's a bit pricier, around 20 euro a drop-in, but the space is gorgeous with a rooftop terrace for stretching after. for yoga specifically, i'd skip the big studios and look for pop-up sessions at tempelhofer feld on weekends, there's often english-speaking teachers running donation-based flows when the weather is decent

Yoga Room Berlin in Mitte runs a solid mix of English and bilingual classes, especially their Vinyasa flow sessions. If you're near Prenzlauer Berg, check out Urban Yoga on Schönhauser Allee, they have a few English slots on the schedule and the teachers are usually good about giving cues in both languages. For something different, Holmes Place gyms around the city offer English Pilates and barre classes, though you'd need a day pass or trial membership to get in.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
