i'd pick gewölbe if you're going solo and want to just melt into a dark cave and not talk to anyone. the stone walls and low light make it feel like you're sweating in a medieval cellar, which i actually find more relaxing than olivin's brighter space. the aufguss sessions there are more traditional too, less showy than vabali but still properly done. downside is it's in kreuzberg near the canal so parking is a nightmare if you're driving, but u-bahn moritzplatz drops you right there

honestly if you want local and chill, go Olivin. Gewölbe has its moments but it attracts a younger crowd that treats it more like a social spot than a place to actually relax. Olivin is tucked away on a quiet street near Hermannplatz, the whole vibe is more laid back and people actually go there to unwind. the salt sauna is nice but honestly the infrared cabin is my go to, great for a slow sweat without the intense heat. just get there before 4 if you want a spot on the terrace

Between the two, Olivin is the more relaxed option if you want a genuinely local vibe. Gewölbe has a bit of a clubby feel on weekend evenings and can get loud, while Olivin keeps things quiet and low-key all day. Olivin's salt sauna is a nice touch too, and the terrace out back is a solid place to cool down in the fresh air. Just keep in mind it's a small place so it fills up fast, especially after 5 PM.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
