Parisian Food Adventures

Seeking recommendations for quality, reasonably priced Pêche Melba and Oeufs Bénédicte in Paris for a 2025 trip. Hoping to avoid Michelin-starred establishments.

For Pêche Melba, look for classic brasseries – they often have it as a dessert option on their menus, and it's usually not exorbitantly priced. Don't be afraid to wander slightly off the main tourist drags to find smaller, family-run places. They often have the best value and most authentic food. Oeufs Bénédicte is a bit easier; most decent brunch spots will have it. Check out some of the cafes in the Marais district – they tend to be trendy but still reasonably priced. Happy hunting!

Great tips, thanks! I hadn't thought about focusing on brasseries for the Pêche Melba – that makes perfect sense. And the Marais for Eggs Benedict sounds like a plan. Any recommendations for specific areas within the Marais, or even a couple of cafes that come to mind? I'm always up for a bit of a hunt, but a little nudge in the right direction never hurts!

Quiet Fireworks Viewing?

Hello, I'm taking my grandmother and her sister to see the fireworks at the Arc de Triomphe tonight. Given their age, I'd rather avoid the crush of people on the Champs-Élysées. Any recommendations f… more

Honestly, the Champs-Élysées is a total zoo for fireworks. Try the Parc de la Villette. It's a bit further out, but you'll get a decent view and it's way less crowded. Grab a spot early, though, even there it gets busy. Pack a picnic; avoids those crazy firework-night prices.
