Planning a Cali trip, need day trip tips
the lagoon at lago calima is worth the extra drive, like an hour and a half but it's a whole different world. you can rent a little paddle boat or just sit at a finca restaurant with a view of the water, the wind gets strong in the afternoon so bring a light jacket. the road up there is winding but the scenery changes fast, hills and green all the way.

for something with more culture, the hacienda el paraíso is about 45 min out, it's the house from maría, the classic novel. the grounds are gorgeous and u get a real feel for the old valle del cauca life. pair it with a stop in buga for the basilica, the architecture alone is worth the detour, and the lechona there is some of the best in the region.
