solid writeup, covers the essentials without overwhelming. one thing i'd mention is the morning market at the east gate of the ancient city wall around 6:30 to 8am. it's not a tourist thing, just locals selling fresh produce and breakfast stuff. grab a jianbing from the lady with the blue cart, she's been there for years and it's like 6 rmb with egg and extra cracker. way more authentic than the old street market imo
also the bus to tiantai mountain is fine but if you're in a group of 3-4 a taxi is only about 60 rmb total and saves you the transfer at the scenic area gate. just tell the driver "guoqing si" and they'll drop you right at the temple entrance, no need to wait for the shuttle bus inside
the tiantai mountain tip is solid but honestly most people skip the waterfall trail past guoqing temple. there's a path behind the main hall that leads to a series of small waterfalls, takes maybe another 40 minutes and there's barely anyone on it. also the fried crab at the old street market is good but the grilled squid from the vendors on binjiang promenade at night is way better, cheaper too around 15 rmb a skewer. if you're into ceramics the museum has a small room with song dynasty pieces that most people walk right past, ask the guard at the desk to unlock it

It's 20 RMB per person, served in the dining hall near the main courtyard, and they don't advertise it. Just show up between 11:30 and 12:30 and someone will wave you in. The tofu dishes are simple but really fresh, and it's a nice break before the hike back down.
Also, the Old Street Food Market gets packed on weekends. If you want a quieter meal, walk two blocks east to the small noodle shop on Qingnian Road, the one with the red lantern out front. They do a dry-tossed noodles with scallion oil that I like better than the seafood version. 12 RMB a bowl.
