honestly this is a really well thought out itinerary, covers all the major bases without being too rushed. one thing i'd swap for day 2 evening is skipping sea world for a walk along the shekou promenade instead. sea world is fine but it's touristy and loud, the promenade just north of it has a much chiller vibe with local seafood spots and you can see the real working port at night. also for day 3, if you're not into the beach scene, dameisha can get packed on weekends so maybe check out the coastal trail at yantian seafood street instead, it's a quieter walk with decent seafood restaurants right on the water
great itinerary, covers the essentials without overloading. for day 1 i'd actually suggest hitting the shenzhen museum in the morning then grabbing lunch at the canton fair food court just across the street, it's underground and has a ton of cheap dim sum spots that locals actually use, way better than coco park for something quick. also on day 3 if you do wutong mountain, the bus from yantian port station is number 113 and runs every 20 mins but the taxi is only like 15 rmb and saves you waiting in the heat. the hike is worth it though, the view from the top on a clear day stretches all the way to hong kong
solid itinerary, covers the right mix of old and new shenzhen. for day 2 the nantou ancient town is worth the visit but honestly dont expect it to be super authentic, it's been heavily polished for tourism. still cool though. one thing i'd say for day 3 is if you do wutong mountain, start early like 7am, the heat gets brutal by 10 and there's barely any shade on the upper trails. bring more water than you think you need, the vendors at the top charge like triple. also the dameisha beach is fine but the sand is imported and the water is kinda murky, if you have time the hike down the mountain on the east side drops you near xiaomeisha which is smaller and way less crowded, same entry fee.

good breakdown, i live in nanshan and the shekou part is right but i'd say skip the hilton and check out the smaller boutique places on gongye road instead. there's a place called the waterfront inn that's like 700 a night and you're right on the boardwalk with way better access to the local bars and the ferry to hong kong. the sea world metro is convenient but the area around it is a tourist trap, walk east toward the shekou fishing port instead for the real waterfront vibe.
for the futian luxury crowd, the ritz is fine but the views from the four seasons in the shenzhen convention center are actually better, especially from the rooftop bar. it's a bit more at like 1800 a night but you can see the ping an finance center and the bay at the same time, and the metro goes right underneath the building.
one thing missing is the luohu border crossing area for anyone who wants to day trip to hong kong. there's a bunch of cheap guesthouses on renmin south road, like 200 a night, and you can walk across the bridge to lo wu in 15 minutes. perfect for visa runners or people who want to shop in both cities without paying for two hotels
yeah this is a good breakdown, I'd just say for the Nanshan tech area the Holiday Inn is decent but if you're a digital nomad on a tighter budget check out the Hanting Hotel on Keyuan Road, it's like 350 a night and the wifi is actually faster than some coworking spaces I've been to. the WeWork there gets packed after 2pm so I usually just work from the Starbucks inside the Shenzhen Bay Innovation Center instead, quieter and the staff know my order by now
one thing the guide missed is the OCT Loft area in Nanshan, it's a creative park with galleries and indie cafes that's perfect for a lazy afternoon. there's a hostel called the Lazybones right inside the complex, dorms for like 100 yuan a night and the vibe is super chill, way better for solo travelers than the Luoho party scene imo. take metro line 2 to Qiaocheng East and it's a 5 min walk
I've stayed in three of these areas and the breakdown is pretty accurate. One thing I'd add for the Nanshan beach area is that the Sea World complex itself is touristy and overpriced, but walk five minutes down Wanghai Road toward the water and you'll find the real local seafood spots. There's a place called Haidilao on the corner of Gongye Road that does fresh grilled oysters for like 8 yuan each, way better than anything in the tourist strip.
For the Luohu nightlife crowd, Dongmen is fun but gets overwhelming fast. If you want something more relaxed, walk over to the area around the Sungang Metro station instead. There's a small craft beer bar called Hop Corner on Buxin Road that's mostly locals and expats who've been here awhile, no cover charge and pints around 35 yuan. Much better than the clubs where you'll pay 80 yuan for a watery cocktail.
The Dapeng hidden gem mention is good but heads up that it gets packed on weekends now too. If you really want quiet, go further east to Xichong beach instead. Same distance from downtown but way fewer people, and there's a guesthouse called the Beach Hut that does rooms for 300 yuan with direct beach access. Take the E11 bus from the Shenzhen North station, it drops you right at the beach entrance.
