yeah the other person nailed it, shangzhi is pretty low-key at night. if you want something a bit different, check out the little beer garden near the south gate of the martyrs' park, it's open til 10 or 11 in summer and they have decent draft beer for like 10 kuai a glass. also the xianghe karaoke place on jiefang road is more popular with locals than the train station ones, less touristy and they'll let you just drink without singing if you want. just know that after 11pm your only real option is the hotel bars or convenience store beer in your room
if you're up for a bit of a walk, the riverside path near the yabuli river bridge has a few benches where people hang out with beers from the little convenience store on beiyi road. it's not a bar or anything but the view of the mountains at night is nice and you'll sometimes see older guys playing chinese chess under the streetlights. just bring bug spray if it's summer
honestly Shangzhi isn't exactly a nightlife city, it's more of a chill mountain town vibe. there's a few karaoke places on the main drag near the train station that stay open late, and the hotpot places on Shiyan Street will serve u until like midnight. if you want a proper bar, your best bet is one of the hotel lounges, the one at the Shangzhi Hotel on Zhongyang Street is decent and open til 1am or so. just don't expect any clubs or late-night street food, the town shuts down pretty early compared to Harbin
