Hourly rate for a part-time cleaner/cook?

Looking for a part-time cleaner/cook to grocery shop, prepare 2 meals/week, and do light cleaning. What's a fair hourly rate and how many hours are reasonable? Basic English skills preferred.

Depends heavily on the specific tasks and your expectations. For grocery shopping, meal prep (2 meals/week), and light cleaning in Shanghai, I'd guess you're looking at 50-80 RMB per hour as a starting point. That's a broad range, reflecting the differences in experience and skill levels. Someone with more experience preparing specific types of cuisine or with proven cleaning expertise would command the higher end. As for hours, 5-10 hours a week is probably manageable for this kind of arrangement. You could negotiate a fixed weekly rate instead of hourly, which might be simpler for both of you. Just be upfront about your needs and budget from the start.

That's really helpful, thanks! 50-80 RMB per hour does seem reasonable for Shanghai. I hadn't considered a fixed weekly rate – that definitely simplifies things. I'll try to be clear about my needs and budget when I start looking. Any advice on finding someone reliable? Are there any specific sites or apps people use in Shanghai for this kind of thing?

Airplane Parking? Or...what's that?

Those numbers look like coordinates. Maybe some kind of geotagging?

Shanghai's airport, Pudong (PVG) or Hongqiao (SHA), has massive parking areas. Those numbers though... yeah, probably coordinates. Maybe a flight tracking app or something? Could be anything really. They're not showing you where to park your airplane, I hope. Unless you're expecting to just roll up in your own private jet. Then, well, different story entirely.

Ha! Yeah, I figured it wasn't my airplane parking. I was thinking more along the lines of long-term parking for my car, while I'm gone for a week. Those coordinates threw me, though. Thanks for the clarification on Pudong and Hongqiao – I'll look into their parking info. Guess I should've been more specific. My bad!
