Planning a Rongjiawan photo trip, need spot ideas

Heading to Rongjiawan in about 6 months, wanna get some solid shots. Any must-hit photo spots around town, like hidden alleys or good viewpoints? What's your go-to? The old ferry landing on the east side of the river is my favorite spot if you want something quieter than the main square. Go around 6:30 AM, the mist sits low over the water and the fishing boats head out right as the light breaks. For alleys, walk behind the Donghu Road market, the narrow lanes there still have the old brick houses with mossy roofs, no signs, just locals hanging laundry.

If you want a proper viewpoint, climb the hill at the south end of the park near the water tower, it's a short scramble but you get the whole town spread out with the lake behind it. The sunset from there beats anything you'll find on the main bridge, plus you can frame the pagoda in the foreground. Bring a wide lens for that, the telephoto shots from the bridge get boring fast.

if u can get out to the west side of town, the old canal locks are worth it. not on any map really, just follow the path past the noodle factory until u hit the water. the concrete's cracked and overgrown, but the way the light hits the rusted gears around 9am is something else. also, the rooftop of the 5 story parking garage near the bus station gives u a clean grid of the newer blocks, good for minimal stuff, especially after a rain when the streets reflect.

honestly the best shots i've gotten are around the old rice mill on the north end, it's abandoned but the light through the broken windows is unreal around 4pm. also if you're into street photography, the morning veg market on Huancheng road is chaos in the best way, just be ready to move fast.
