also for a cheap breakfast hit the morning market on feicheng road near the hospital, they do jianbing with a fried egg and crispy wonton skin for like 7 yuan. the lady there has been making them for 20 years, she folds it weird but it holds together better than the normal ones. get there before 8am or the line gets stupid long
laoshan's great but if you're short on time the beijiushui entrance is the move, way less stairs and you still get the sea views from the top. the main gate is just tourist buses and selfie sticks imo
the golden beach tip is solid but honestly the water quality varies a lot depending on the tide and weather. i'd recommend checking the qingdao beach quality index online before heading out, there's a wechat mini program for it. also the cable car at zhongshan park is nice but if you want a longer ride the one from taiping mountain to the tv tower is 120 yuan and goes over the botanical gardens, way fewer tourists and you can see both the city and the bay from the top. the tv tower has a cheap observation deck for 15 yuan too, good spot for sunset photos without the crowds

also for cheap eats, the night market on Fushan Road after 9pm is where its at. little carts set up with grilled squid and skewers for like 3-5 CNY each, and the old lady at the corner stall makes a mean spicy cold noodles for 8 CNY. just bring cash, half those stalls dont take wechat pay

This is a solid guide, pretty much covers the main stuff. One thing I would add is to check out the little park at the top of Xiaoyushan, it is just a 5 CNY entry fee and gives you a killer panoramic view of the whole bay and the old town. Way less crowded than Signal Hill on a summer weekend.
Also, for eating, don't sleep on the jianbing stalls you will find near any university or tech campus around 7 or 8 in the morning. A loaded one with egg and a wonton wrapper inside is like 8 CNY and will keep you full until dinner. Way better than the sad breakfast buffets at the hostels.
