What to eat around Qinbaling?

I'm heading to Qinbaling in a couple of months and want to know what local dishes I shouldn't miss. Any favorite spots or must-try foods? I'm heading to Qinbaling in a couple of months and want to know what local dishes I shouldn't miss. Any favorite spots or must-try foods?

tbh the best thing I've had around here is the cold noodles from the little cart by the bus station, they do this spicy sour dressing that's perfect for a warm day. For a proper meal, skip the lamb places everyone talks about and try the tofu skin rolls at Wang Ji's on West Street, they stuff them with vermicelli and pickled veg and it's like 8 yuan for a huge plate. Also if you see anyone selling shaobing with a crispy sesame crust, grab one, they're stuffed with either red bean or pork and way better than the ones you get in bigger cities

You'll want to find a place that serves Qingyang lamb, it's the real standout here. The lamb noodles at Laoma Er's on South Street are a solid bet, they've been doing it for years and the broth is rich without being greasy. For something quicker, grab a piece of youpo mian from one of the stalls near the East Gate, it's just dough and hot oil but it works. Don't bother with the touristy spots right by the main square, they're overpriced and the portions are smaller.

Honestly just walk around the morning market near the old city wall, grab some nian gao from the grannies selling it fresh. Way better than anything in a restaurant tbh
