I'd add that if you're into photography, the temple is worth visiting right when it opens at 8:00 AM. The morning light hits the main hall's gold trim just perfectly, and you'll have the courtyards mostly to yourself before the tour groups roll in around 10. I got some of my favorite shots of the dragon carvings that way, no elbows in the frame.
One thing the guide doesn't mention is that the trail to the hidden waterfall splits about halfway, and the left fork leads to a small, unmarked cave with a tiny shrine inside.
