For day 2, I'd swap the Jiuzhaigou Night Market mention for the Shibati area near Jiefangbei instead, it's an older residential street that's been spruced up but still feels real, good for evening walks and there's a tiny hotpot stall at the bottom called Laomao that does single servings for like 30 rmb. The market listed gets touristy fast and the food's just okay.

Also for the Wulong day, if you're taking the 7am bullet train, grab breakfast at the station's bakery on the second floor, their egg tarts are surprisingly decent and it saves u hunting for food once you're out there. The bus from Wulong station to the park leaves when full, not on a schedule, so factor that in.

honestly this is a really solid itinerary, covers the main spots well. one thing i'd add is that the wulong trip is doable as a day trip but the bullet train station is a bit outside the karst area, so expect to add 30-40 min by bus or taxi each way. i did it last year and left around 7am, got back to jiefangbei by 8pm, so it's tight but worth it

for the hotpot, skip haidilao if you want the real deal. try a local place like zhoujunji on minzu road near jiefangbei, their mala broth is intense and the tripe is super fresh. cheaper too, prob 60-80 per person if u stick to the classics

also the liziba metro photo spot gets packed after 5pm, go around 3-4pm on a weekday for a better shot without the crowds. the monorail comes every few minutes so u wont wait long

this is a really thoughtful itinerary, you've clearly put time into the logistics which is rare for chongqing posts. one thing i'd flag is that day 1's jiefangbei to hongya cave to cruise flow is perfect but the cave itself is a madhouse after 2pm, especially on weekends. i went on a tuesday at 11am and it was peaceful, by 1pm the staircases were shoulder-to-shoulder. if your schedule allows, hit hongya cave first thing then do jiefangbei later, the crowds flip around lunchtime

for the wulong day, the bullet train to wulong drops you at a station that's basically in a field. there are minibuses outside that go straight to the park for 10 rmb but they wait until they're full. i got stuck for 40 minutes once because only 5 people showed up. worst case grab a taxi for about 60 rmb, it's 20 minutes and way less headache. also the three natural bridges have a glass viewing platform near the entrance that costs an extra 30 rmb, i'd skip it, the regular viewpoints are better and free

the hotpot tip about zhoujunji is good but if you want something even more local, try a place called yuxin hotpot on cangbai road just behind hongya cave. no english menu, you point at what other tables are eating.

honestly the wulong karst day trip is worth the early bus ride but don't skip furong cave, it's massive and the boat ride inside is only like 15 yuan extra. the three natural bridges are impressive but the cave felt more unique to me, the lighting makes it look unreal. just bring a light jacket even in summer, it stays cool down there around 18 degrees celsius

one thing the guide doesn't mention is the night view from the top of nanshan mountain. you can take a taxi up from nanbin road for about 30 yuan and there's a few tea houses with terraces looking right at the entire yuzhong peninsula. way less crowded than hongya cave at night and you get the full skyline with all the bridges lit up. the mountain tea house near the old observatory is my go to spot

The guide nails the big spots, but one thing I'd add is taking the ferry across the Yangtze from Chaotianmen to Danzishi. It's only 10 RMB and runs every hour, giving you a completely different view of the skyline without the crowds at Hongya Cave. The Danzishi old town area on the other side has a nice riverside promenade and a few quieter hotpot places that are more local than the ones on Nanbin Road. Also, for the monorail through the building at Liziba, go to the 7th floor of the residential complex itself rather than the official observation deck, you can stand right next to the tracks as the train passes through.

ngl the guide's right about the hotpot but if you want something less touristy try the skewer hotpot places in the back alleys of guanyinqiao. there's a spot called lao ma jia near the pedestrian bridge that does 0.8 yuan per skewer and you pick your own stuff from open fridges. the broth is darker and oilier than the big chain places but thats how locals actually eat it. also skip the bayi road night market for food, it's mostly for tourists now, head to the huanghuayuan night market instead for better grilled fish and cold noodles
