if you're here for 6 months you'll probably want a regular spot. check out the craft beer place on xinhua road, it's called "hops & malt" or something like that. the owner speaks decent english and rotates through maybe 8 taps, mostly chinese craft stuff that's actually good. they do a quiz night on wednesdays that pulls in a mix of expats and locals who studied abroad, easy way to meet people without forcing it
