good guide, i've lived here for a few years and it's pretty spot on. the one thing i'd say is zhijin cave is worth the trip but the lighting inside is honestly a bit much sometimes, like a disco in a cave, but the sheer size of the main chamber makes up for it. if you have time after the cave, there's a small village called dongpo about 10 minutes down the road that does a really good bamboo rice, it's not in any guidebook but the old lady at the first stall sells it for 8 yuan per serving
also, the fenghuang square light show is fine but the real vibe is the tea houses on the side streets off it, especially the one with the yellow lanterns on wenhua road. they do a local green tea for 15 yuan and you can sit there for hours watching people, way more chill than the square itself
the ailao mountains hike is great but if you want something less crowded, try the trail starting from shuangshan village instead of the main scenic area. it's about 15 minutes further by taxi but way fewer people and the views of the terraced fields are even better. just download the map offline first, the signal drops pretty quick once you're in the valley
also, the yi performance at the ethnic culture park is worth the 80 yuan but the saturday show is the same every week. if you're around on a friday, they sometimes have smaller impromptu dances in fenghuang square around 7pm, free to watch and more authentic feeling
nice breakdown, lived here two years and this is pretty accurate. for the farmers market, the dried mushrooms are solid but i'd also grab some of the pickled vegetables from the stall with the blue tarp near the middle, the lady there makes a spicy radish that's perfect with rice. also if you're at zhijin cave, skip the overpriced food at the entrance and eat at the noodle shop across the road, their beef noodles are 12 yuan and way better than anything inside
one thing missing is the hot springs near qixingguan district, about 40 minutes from downtown by bus. there's a public one for 30 yuan that's basic but clean, or the resort one for 80 with pools and stuff. the water's legit hot and good after a hike in the ailao mountains, just bring your own towel because they charge extra

fwiw the torchtower at night is way better than during the day, the light show is nice but the real vibe is around 8pm when locals start dancing in the square, just join the circle nobody cares if you mess up the steps. also the museum is free on wednesdays which nobody ever mentions, i only found out because i showed up on the wrong day once
for the liuchong river thing, consider going early like 8am instead of 9, the water is calmer and you get the mist coming off the cliffs which is pretty stunning. the taxi driver will prob try to charge you 80 yuan but 60 is the real price, just hold firm
yeah this is a really good plan, i've done the liuchong river rafting a couple times and it's a blast but 150 yuan is for the basic route. if you're adventurous ask for the "extended" run at the ticket booth, it's 200 yuan but adds another 45 minutes through some tighter rapids, way more fun imo. the standard one is pretty tame in the dry season
for day 1 dinner, the grilled fish stall is solid but if you want something less touristy walk to the end of Renmin Road where the old lady sells sour soup fish from a cart, 25 yuan and she uses actual wild tomatoes not the farmed ones. get there before 7pm though she runs out fast
one thing missing is the morning market on Xinhua Road, happens every day until like 11am. great for cheap fruit and the sticky rice cakes with brown sugar are 3 yuan each, perfect breakfast before the caves
honestly this is a solid itinerary, i've lived in bijie for 2 years and you nailed the main spots. one thing though, skip the cafe near the bus station on day 3, it's overpriced and the coffee is weak. instead walk two blocks east to the little shop at 8 Gongyuan Road, they do a decent local bean brew for 12 yuan and the owner is chatty if you want tips on where to buy real bamboo carvings, not the tourist ones on Market Street.
the zhijin caves are worth the trip but the 120 yuan entry is a bit steep if you're on a budget. if you go on a weekday you can sometimes get a discount just by asking at the ticket window, i got in for 90 yuan last april. also the bus back from zhijin can get crowded after 3pm, i'd aim for the 2pm one if you can swing it, you'll have more room and can grab a window seat for the views coming into bijie.
