Line 14 to Jiangtai, then walk west.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down
Image elisa local ·

Jiangtai exit A puts you on the right side of Jiuxianqiao Road, saving you a crossing.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down
Image lili local ·

exit A is also where the shared bikes pile up, so grab one there instead of walking the whole stretch.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Yeah and its a solid 15 min walk, not 5

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image annika local ·

That stretch has zero shade, so bring a hat in summer.

also gate 4 of 798 is closer if ur coming from the south side, saves u the loop round

The garden sits inside the 798 art zone area, so you'll likely pair it with gallery wandering anyway. Go on a weekday morning before 10, it's quiet and the light through the trees is better for photos. Weekend afternoons get packed with people doing photo shoots. Entry is free but some installations have limited hours, so check the schedule at the gate.

Image connieneu local ·

Agree on mornings, but the installations open at 10 sharp, not before.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image susen local ·

weekday mornings are the move for sure, but check the 798 wechat account first since some spaces close mondays for installs. the light thing is real, the trees along the north path filter it nicely around 8 to 9

worth noting the photo shoots usually need a permit, so if someone asks u to move for a "shoot" they're probably legit but can be pushy

Old Bell pub in Beijing 2026, still worth a visit?

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Still open, and weeknights are quiet enough to actually talk, with local craft taps around 50 to 70 yuan a pint.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah and those prices are happy hour, after 8pm most taps jump closer to 80, plus they rotate the local stuff weekly so ask what's fresh

Monday nights the back room's dead quiet til 9ish

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Image monique local ·

agreed on the quiet part but tbh the food's the real draw, their fish and chips beats most places around Gulou. kitchen stops taking orders around 10 though so dont roll in late expecting to eat.

quiet during the week is right but the draft list thins out by thursday, they dont restock til the weekend rush. go tuesday if u want the full board. also the tiny courtyard out back is the move in march, way less smoky than inside

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

courtyard's the right call but bring a jacket, it's still chilly after dark that time of year & the heaters out there are weak. also they only take card inside, cash is a hassle

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Image lili local ·

tbh the 50 to 70 range only really holds early on, we usually just grab one pint there then wander.

arrow_drop_up -1 arrow_drop_down

Beer selection's a bit limited, mostly their own brews

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

March weeknights you'll want the front bar, the back fills with smoking regulars after nine.
