My flight arrives late at night, and I'm worried about finding my way to the airport express train quickly and efficiently without getting completely lost. Any tips for a newbie trying to navigate PEK's labyrinthine depths at 1 am, preferably without relying on Didi or a taxi? I've already pre-booked my train ticket, but getting to the correct platform seems like it might be a challenge.

honestly pek at 1am is way less chaotic than during the day. the express train runs until like 11pm from terminal 3 so if your flight lands at 1am you might be stuck walking to the parking lot or taking a night bus. double check the schedule on the beijing subway app cause they changed it last year. if the train's done for the night the airport shuttle bus to dongzhimen runs pretty late and costs like 30 yuan. way cheaper than a taxi and not as scary as it sounds

The signs at PEK are actually pretty solid even late at night, so just look for the train icon in blue and you'll wind up at the right spot. Since you already have the ticket, you can skip the machines and head straight to the gates, but check the Beijing Subway app to make sure the train's still running at that hour, they cut off around 11pm from Terminal 3.

Dude, PEK at 1 AM is intense. Seriously. Follow the signs religiously. They're usually pretty good, surprisingly. Once you're through customs and baggage claim, just keep an eye peeled for the airport express train signs, they're usually pretty big and hard to miss. It's all pretty well-signposted, even if it's a maze. Don't overthink it; just follow the flow of the crowd. Most people are heading for the same thing, so just tag along. If you get really stuck, there are usually information desks around; the staff there generally speak some English. Good luck! You'll be fine.

olympic forest park is slept on fr. the linden trees along the main axis go gold in late october and the bird's nest reflection in the lake at sunrise is nuts, barely anyone there on weekdays. also check out 798 art district on a weekday morning, the old factory pipes and graffiti make great contrast shots. tbh bring a wider lens than u think you need, everything in beijing is bigger than it looks in photos

everyone goes for the big landmarks but honestly the best shots i got were from the overpasses on the 3rd ring road at dusk, just traffic light trails with CCTV tower lit up in the background. also guomao at blue hour from the silk street footbridge, the CBD towers all glassy & orange, tripod helps cuz u need a slow shutter. one thing nobody mentions, air quality totally changes your photos so check the AQI app the night before, a clear day after rain is worth waiting for

For sunrise the Temple of Heaven east gate area is underrated, locals doing tai chi around 5:30am with the morning fog, way better than fighting crowds at Tiananmen. For sunset honestly just walk along the canal near Shichahai, the reflections off the water with the Drum Tower behind are hard to beat. Bring a tripod if you can, the good light only lasts like 20 mins this time of year.
